Starlight Xpress Costar Autoguider

The CoStar is a low cost Cmos imager/ Autoguider.

It features a sensitive Mono CMOS sensor with 1304x1024 Pixels with a USB 2 INterface and Opto Isolated control outputs.

The CoStar is as small as a 1.25" eyepiece and weighs much less!

It also makes an effective planetary imager.

The costar is an excellent choice as a low budget autoguider and at the very low retail price of 275 it means that customers now have the option to buy a budget priced but highly effective autoguider from one of the biggest and best manufacturers in amateur CCD Imaging.

The Costar is bundles with a version of PHD Guiding from Stark Laboratories and includes USB and RJ guide cables.

Starlight Xpress Cooling Enhancer

In stagnant air, the body temperature of our 'R' series cameras can rise well above ambient and degrade the chip cooling. This very compact add-on will keep the air moving and allow you to get the best possible delta T on the chip. It is fitted in place of the standard tripod bracket and powered by a 'Y' lead from the DC input cable. The magnetically levitated fan is quiet and vibration free.

Starlight Xpress filter wheel face plate for direct attachment of H18 and M26 Cameras

An alternative filter wheel face plate for direct attachment of the H18 and M26 cameras is now available (not suitable for other SX cameras as the OAG cannot achieve focus for these, without the camera adaptor in place.

£175.00

Starlight Xpress Super-Slim Off-Axis guide head add-on

This new filter wheel accessory makes accurate, flexure-free guiding easy to achieve. The extremely slim assembly screws directly to the wheel face and adds only 13mm to the back focal distance of the wheel. The 10 x 8mm prism fully illuminates a Lodestar or EX guider CCD and the pick-off axis may be adjusted to optimise the guide image quality. An alternative filter wheel face plate for direct attachment of our H18 and M26 cameras is also available (not suitable for other SX cameras as the OAG cannot achieve focus for these, without the camera adaptor in place)

£189.00

Starlight Xpress Super-Slim Off-Axis guide head add-on with 20mm Guide Camera Extender

Super-Slim Off-Axis guide head add-on with variable 20mm Guide Head extender.

Starlight Xpress Filter Wheel Back Plate Add On

An alternative filter wheel face plate for direct attachment of SX H18 and M26 cameras.(not suitable for other SX cameras as the OAG cannot achieve focus for these, without the camera adaptor in place.

Starlight Xpress SXV Exview Guider Offer

Starlight Xpress SXV USB 2 Exview Guider When Purchased at the same time as any SXVR CCD Imaging Camera.

£349.00

Starlight Xpress SXV-EX Autoguider

This is a new version of the SXV autoguider, fitted with a larger and more sensitive 'Exview' Sony 429 CCD.

Providing much greater sensitivity and imaging area than the original SXV Autoguider, the SXV-EX Autoguider plugs straight into any Starlight Xpress SXV Imaging camera and thus requires no separate USB cable or power supply.

The SXV-EX Autoguider works in bin 2x2 mode for extra sensitivity.

The larger binned pixels give better autoguiding accuracy as autoguiding software such as that found with Maxim DL/Astro Art/PHD Guiding etc work by defining a star centroid, and having greater (but not saturated) signal strength improves the centroiding accuracy and thus the accuracy of the guiding.

Technical Specs:

CCD type: ICX429AL Sony Exview interline CCD with low dark current and vertical anti-blooming.

CCD Full resolution Pixel data: Pixel size: 16.4uM x 16.4uM, Image format: 376 x 290 pixels

CCD Image area: 6.4mm (Horizontal) x 4.75mm (Vertical).

CCD quality: Grade 1

Peak QE in excess of 70%

Readout Noise: Less than 15 electrons RMS - typically only 10 electrons.
