Borg is a range of Japanese made high quality modular telscopes and astrographs that are designed for full format astrophotography and great portability.
Most of the Borg instruments can be supplied and configured to cover full format 35mm sensors at super fast focal ratios as fast as F3.9.
They are perfect for wide field astro photography and the modular nature of their design enables the telescopes to be easily broken down into individual components for transport.
Borg telescopes are also very light weight and make an excellent choice for airline friendly high quality astro photography.
The products show thus far (October 2012) are just the start. IN the near future we will be adding many Borg accessories, adaptors and additional instruments.

The Hutech IDAS P2 LPS is in our opinion the BEST Light Pollution Suppression filter for astro photography with DSLR and colour CCD cameras.
Light pollution suppression (LPS) filters are designed to suppress the common emission lines generated by artificial lighting, yet allow the important nebula emission lines to pass, thus enhancing the contrast of astronomical objects, particularly emission nebulae (see filter plots).
Unlike other light pollution suppression filters, IDAS filters are specifically designed for balanced colour transmission using the IDAS unique Multi-Bandpass Technology (MBT) process. The balanced transmission allows colour photographs to be taken with minimal colour cast to broadband emission objects such as stars, galaxies and globular clusters.
Hutech IDAS LPS filters utilize the unique IDAS Ion Gun Assisted Deposition (IGAD) coating technology for superior coating durability (quartz hardness) and safer cleaning. IGAD coatings also improve temperature and humidity stability, reducing spectrum shifts down to +/-1nm from the +/-3 or 4nm shift of standard coatings.
CCD imaging can also benefit, because although CCD imagers can already shoot through light pollution to some extent, including an LPS filter to the setup gives an added (signal-to-noise) edge.
Note, however, that light pollution suppression filters are not a perfect substitute for dark skies.
LPS filters are available in 1.25" and 2" threaded cells, other sizes are available on request.
The Borg Helical Focuser M is 'standard issue' for the Borg 71FL and 77ED series.
In addition to being a standard component on Borg scopes, a common use for a Borg helical focuser is to add it on to an SCT or any other scope with a coarse focuser such as a rack-and-pinion focuser. Especially in the case of SCT's this allows for fine focus positioning without the annoying image shift which is often large enough to move a target off a small imaging or guiding CCD chip.
The Borg adapter 7428 allows this focuser to be attached to an SCT telescope.
Helical focusers work by turning a ring to focus as we do when using a conventional camera (at least in manual focus mode). A true helical focuser works like a camera - when you turn the focusing ring, neither the lens nor the camera (or eyepiece and diagonal) rotate. The only motion is in and out. Some manufacturers implement a 'pseudo-helical' focuser which results in a rotating camera or eyepiece, but Borg focusers are true helical focusers.
The advantage of helical focusers is the fine adjustment possible, in part due to the fine pitch of the focusing ring's thread, and in part due to the large diameter of the ring. In the case of the Borg helical focusers, virtually backlash-free movement and graduated markings on the focusers allow repeatable return to the focus point simply by noting the focus position reading.
