Pulsar Observatories have now introduced their new 2.2m dome. Based on a similar design to the 2.7m model the 2.2m offers the following advantages over the older 2.1m dome

Customer Requirements:

The customer will need to provide a level concrete base to ensure secure fixing and dome operation.

Various upgrades and accessories are currently being developed.

The 2.7 metre Observatory Dome is available in white or green.

We can also supply a steel pier, that will complete the permanent installation of your telescope, giving you more space within the dome than your existing tripod. The pier can be delivered and installed free of charge with your observatory, if ordered together.

Rigel shutter drive unit

Motorise your Dome shutter automated shutters avoid manual operation in the dark, and is a vital step towards complete full remote operation of your observatory.

Designed for use with the Pulsar 2.7 metre dome or 2.2 metre dome.

The shutter drive unit is powered by a pre installed lithium battery. The battery is recharged by the supplied solar panel or by using a power tank battery charger. The shutter drive is permanently powered on and the shutter can be opened or closed using the red button on the drive casing. Alternatively, the shutter can be opened or closed using the software, by bluetooth connection with the rotation drive.

Pulsar Pulley Accessory Kit

The Pulley Accessory kit is designed to aid the opening and closing of the dome shutter, and to minimise the risk of the shutter slipping and causing damage. Allows the shutter to be part opened to any position if required. Easy to fit, the kit comes complete with pulleys, nuts, bolts and washers, together with 4 metres of Nylon rope.

It can be fitted whilst your dome is being installed or retro-fitted afterwards.

The pulley fits to the flange at the top of your dome aperture, through the existing bolt hole, and the Nylon cord fits to the front and rear of the sliding shutter. The kit costs just 39 plus postage, unless purchased with your observatory. Supplied with detailed fitting instructions.

The perfect solution to your observatory floor

Cut from high quality impact resistant interlocking rubber tiles, the flooring is waterproof and shock resistant. Tiles come in 61cm x 61cm interlocking rubber squares, 10mm thick. The tiles, in conjunction with the supplied plastic membrane, provide a flooring surface that is not only waterproof, but also shock resistant, protects falling eyepieces etc! Also reduces noise and vibration, and provides good insulation from the concrete base.

Pulsar All metal Observatory Eyepiece Shelf

Convenience and safety for all your eyepieces.

Keep your eyepieces safe and conveniently to hand.

The all metal observatory eyepiece shelf is designed for use with Pulsar observatories and is simple to install. It has holes for 1.25" and 2" eyepieces.

The design is suitable for 2.2m and 2.7m observatories.

The rack is 620mm long and 155mm at its widest.

Fits into the the rear of the dome top, opposite the aperture opening, therefore it rotates with the dome top,

always keeping the eyepieces in a convenient position for access.

The shelf is permanently attached for eyepiece safety by screw fixing (screws supplied).

Pulsar Dome Security Clamps

Dome security clamps for 2.2m observatories

Kit comprises of 2 security clamps, including fixing kit, bolts, etc. These easy to fit clamps will provide additional security for your observatory, and will prevent the dome from being removed by any external force.

They are useful to use whilst away on vacation, or in the event of unusually high winds. Ensure clamps are swung out of the way before attempting to rotate the observatory dome.
