The Colour Lodestar is a new product from Starlight Xpress and follows on form the highly successful monochrome Lodestar.
The Colour Lodestar is recommended as an entry level colour imaging camera as well as autoguider.
Although uncooled the low noise sensor can take exposures up to a couple of minutes duration. Becasue the sensor is so sensitive and has very low dark noise these shorter subexposures can be combined to give very good results on most deep sky targets.

The colour Lodestar is small and lightweight and requires just a USB connection. It can be run of a netbook and with the battery life on most modern netbooks will not require a mains power connection for long imaging runs and is thus very easy to use n the field.
